About Tee Chérie

Tee Chérie is a New York-based apparel and lifestyle brand dedicated to celebrating Haitian heritage and Caribbean culture through bold, story-driven designs. Founded in 2018 by husband-and-wife duo Genevieve and Yahve Alcinay, Tee Chérie was born from a deep pride in Haiti — the first Black republic in the world and the first nation to win independence through a successful slave revolt in 1804.

Our Story

As proud members of the Haitian diaspora, Genevieve and Yahve wanted to create more than just clothing — they wanted to create wearable culture. Each Tee Chérie design is rooted in the history, language, food, music, and spirit of Haiti and the wider West Indian community. From the revolutionary leaders who freed Haiti from French colonial rule, to the beloved dishes like Soup Joumou and Manje Diri, to the rhythms of Konpa — Tee Chérie brings these stories to life on premium apparel.
